Nightlife in Malta is very vibrant and attracts many people from all different age groups, nationalities and interest groups. Popular nightlife places are Bugibba, Sliema and St. Julian’s. The most famous centre of nightlife in Malta is Paceville, St. Julian’s. In Paceville you can find a variety of clubs, bars and pubs next to each other making the clubbing experience unique and very easy because of short distance walks. These clubs play the latest dance hits but also other genres for the different tastes of music. Paceville is often compared to its rival party island Ibiza which is also well-known for its several clubs and large number of tourists. Due to most clubs not charging entrance fees selling very affordable drinks Malta has become a very popular destination for party goers.
In case that you are not into clubbing there are different activities to offer in Paceville. Malta’s largest cinema complex the Eden cinemas for example, a bowling alley and 2 Casinos as well as several quieter bars are situated just a few minutes’ walk away from the clubs.
If you feel like going to a larger open-air club, Gianpula, near Mdina and Rabat, and Numero Uno in Ta’ Qali are the right places to go. These open-air clubs are popular amongst both the local people and the tourists and have a capacity of up to 4000 people. Every year, especially Gianpula, has hosted several world-known djs such as Tiesto, Sasha and Planet Funk. Being open air both of these clubs are open in the warmer months between May and October.
